I was so happy when the Ahlschlager family chose me as their photographer for their Maternity Lifestyle Shoot. With Mareli being a fellow photographer herself, it was an honour to photograph their family in a Lifestyle Maternity Photo Shoot. They chose a whimsical forest setting that I found to be so suiting in the moody winter months.
Mareli wore a breathtaking dress from Blossoms and Belle. Her makeup (https://www.facebook.com/Makeup-By-Daniele) and hair (Cindy Wilken) was on point! Their first born daughter joined the shoot and were darling wearing a matching winter green dress. Mareli made the dress for Emma herself (don’t know where she still found the time). The pretty dress did not deter her from walking through muddy puddles with her leather soft sole shoes though (typical 3 year old!)
Dad, Keith, had to keep Emma from ruining her beautiful outfit in the mud and the two of them had such a wonderful time in front of the camera together. There’s such a special connection between them and it showed!
I was fortunate to have been able to photograph this family within the current Covid 19 restrictions in South Africa. We trust that the restrictions will lift soon in order to document the birth of their baby.
The Ahlschlager Family prayed for their new baby’s name and that is how they arrived at Bree Madison. Bree meaning “strength” and Madison meaning “gift from God”. I cannot wait to meet baby Bree. She will be just as good looking as the rest of this family I am sure! Mareli should definitely consider being in front of the camera more than behind it (wink wink 🙂
